About Portition
Good games deserve a way forward.
Portition helps you find source-backed game projects and understand what it takes to play them.
A catalogue and a community demand board
We list public GitHub projects with source relevant to game ports, decompilation or recompilation. Follow the project’s installation guide for authoritative instructions. We do not host games, original assets, ROMs or executables.
Understand what you’re looking at
- Port: work to run a game in another target environment.
- Decomp: reconstruction of readable source. Source progress does not establish a playable game.
- Recomp: a recompilation project with its own runtime and data requirements.
- Playable: target-specific evidence supports ordinary gameplay, with documented limitations. It does not mean independently tested, bug-free or suitable for every device.
- Experimental, Source only and Unknown: distinct stages or evidence gaps. Check the source and evidence date.
Popularity has limits
GitHub stars indicate repository popularity. Community upvotes express interest in a request. Neither is a quality score or proof of unique people. Requests do not assign work to maintainers or promise a release date.
Keeping the catalogue useful
The owner and authorized maintenance tools review listings, source evidence and requests. Automated factual refreshes preserve the last known information when a source fails. You can suggest a correction from a project page. Game bugs belong in the maintainer’s support channel.
Portition is an independent catalogue, unaffiliated with the original game publishers or listed developers. Listing a project does not establish its licence, security or endorsement. Original game data may be required.
